 حکم بن ایوب کا حجاج کے سامنے حیلۀ حجاج نے حکم بن ایوب کوجبر بن حبیب سےمانگااس کو اندیشہ ہوا کہ اگر حوالہ کر دیا گیا تو یہ حکم کو تکلیف پہنچاۓگا جبر نے کہا میں حکم کو ایسےحال میں چھوڑ أیا ہوں کہ ان کاسرہل رہا ہے اس کے حلق میں پانی ڈالا جا رہا ہے  اللہ اگر اس کو تخت پر ڈال کر لایا تو تمہاری ذات اس کی وجہ سے لوگوں کی نگا ہوں میں عاربن جاۓگی یہ حیلہ کارگر ہوگیا اور ان سے کہہ دیا گیا واپس جاۓ
